I've eaten many meals there since Daniels's opened and the only one found to be right was the very first one that Daniel himself took care of. The woman who deals with the customers is a space cadet. I could find better almost anywhere. She has never once gotten my order right and I refuse to go there anymore. The last meal I had was yesterday and it was the same as my very first meal there, I was truly dissapointed by the lack of spices in the batter for the catfish, the greasy fries and no lemon which was definlitely a plus the first time.

And one more:

Jonathan,

I enjoyed your review of Daniel's and have had a chance to read the other entries on your blog. You are doing a great job keeping up with Mid-City goings-on.

Another perspective:

Your review of the restaurant was verbose. Over the top, one might say. Of course that one is me. That review could have been contained in 4 paragraphs.
But I shall visit the restau, now that I know how to get in.

A truly excellent review. Well said and beautifully done. I think you clearly made eating out sound better than sex!

I hope Daniel's will realize his strengths and weaknesses here. A lot of chef-owned restaurants suffer from a lack of attention to the front of the house, and yet one can't ignore the brilliance of the kitchen. I hope someone snatches Daniel out of there into some perfect surroundings (of course not outside of Mid-City).

Thanks for your excellent blog and I hope to read and enjoy more of your food criticism.
